Abstract
- The article presents information on a course on science and pseudoscience at Williams College. This course aims not so much to teach the science around those issues as to explore the tension between scientific knowledge--which is based on published and replicable experimentation--and beliefs based on fads, prejudice, or faith. Medical evidence shows that only a small portion of people are actually sensitive to too salty a diet, says Jay M. Pasachoff, a professor of astronomy, who developed and teaches the course.
