Abstract
- A study conducted in Palermo, Italy, examined the prevalence of liver involvement in pediatric patients with celiac disease before and after starting a gluten-free diet. The research found that a significant number of patients had hypertransaminasemia and hepatic steatosis at diagnosis, with some persistence even after 12 months of a gluten-free diet. The study suggests that regular follow-up with a nutritionist is essential for managing patients with celiac disease to address potential liver damage. [Extracted from the article]
