Abstract

A recent study conducted at Osaka General Medical Center in Japan examined the prevalence and clinical impact of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) in patients with acute aortic dissection. The study found that DIC was associated with increased in-hospital mortality in these patients, regardless of whether they underwent surgery or not. The research suggests that further studies are needed to improve the clinical outcomes of patients with acute aortic dissection and DIC. [Extracted from the article]
