Abstract
- Researchers at Soochow University in Suzhou, China, conducted a study on the RNA virome of juvenile largemouth bass, a freshwater fish species commonly bred in aquaculture. The study revealed the presence of 69 known viruses and 117 novel viruses in the fish's liver, spleens, and kidneys, indicating a wider host range than previously believed. The discovery highlights the potential threat posed by these hidden viruses and the need for further research to understand their pathogenicity and develop preventive measures in largemouth bass aquaculture.
