Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Heidelberg University focused on the importance of advanced airway management in various medical fields, such as anesthesiology, emergency medicine, and critical care. The study aimed to establish the Heidelberg Adult and Pediatric Airway Registry (HAPA-Registry) to systematically record and evaluate different methods of airway management, monitor the implementation of guidelines, and assess success rates and complications. The registry is a prospective observational trial that includes patients requiring general anesthesia with advanced airway management during surgical procedures, with the goal of including approximately 9000 patients in the first period.
