Abstract

A recent study conducted at Guangdong Medical University in China focused on predicting risk factors for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) reactivation in high-prevalence areas for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). The study utilized Bayesian network analysis and found that age and smoking were direct risk factors for EBV reactivation, while factors such as sex, education level, tea drinking, cooking, and family history of cancer were indirectly associated. The research concluded that Bayesian network analysis has potential for predicting EBV reactivation associated with NPC.
