Abstract

Recent research from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine explores the impact of antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation on mortality risk in individuals with human immunodeficiency virus-associated cryptococcal meningitis. The study found that mortality risk was higher in those who had started ART within 14 days of diagnosis compared to those who had been on ART for longer periods. The research suggests that interrupting ART in this patient population may lead to improved outcomes. This study provides valuable insights into managing ART in individuals with cryptococcal meningitis and HIV/AIDS. [Extracted from the article]
