Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the University of Gondar College of Medicine and Health Sciences in Ethiopia focused on the length of hospital stay and associated factors among neonates with perinatal asphyxia in the Northwest Amhara Region. The research included 609 newborns with perinatal asphyxia and found that the mean hospital stay was 13.9 days, with factors such as neonatal sepsis, AKI, hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy, fetal macrosomia, and prolonged labor being significantly associated with longer stays. The study suggests that implementing appropriate standards of care could help reduce the length of hospital stays for neonates with perinatal asphyxia. [Extracted from the article]
