Abstract
- A recent study conducted by investigators from Harbin Medical University in Heilongjiang, China, focused on a novel 167-amino acid protein encoded by circPCSK6 that inhibits the progression of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) by targeting the NF-kappa B pathway. The research highlighted the importance of circPCSK6 and its derivative in ICC pathogenesis, emphasizing their potential as therapeutic targets. The study also identified EIF4A3 as a regulator of circPCSK6, impacting ICC malignancy, and suggested that higher levels of circPCSK6-167aa could enhance sensitivity to chemotherapy. This groundbreaking discovery offers new insights into circRNA-driven tumorigenesis and potential innovative therapeutic strategies for ICC treatment. [Extracted from the article]
