Abstract

The article describes the attributes of chief executive officers (CEO) in the U.S. based on the results of a survey conducted by "Business Week" (BW) and pollster Lou Harris. According to BW, nearly 40% of CEO were born in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Ohio. It adds that the typical CEO has been with his company for 23 years. The survey also shows that they are conservative men with stable lives. On the other hand, Michigan State University professor Eugene Jennings notes that engineering and Master of Business Administration degrees commonly appear together in the curricula vitae of chief executives.
