Abstract

This article offers information on Oscularia, a succulent plant characterized with erect or spreading shrubs. Its leaves are trigonous with convex sides and very light grey from a distinct layer of crystal sand in the outer epidermal wall and a thick wax cover of densely placed platelets petering out into narrow structures sometimes forming threads, margins and keel in several species dentate. The plant grows mostly in rocky places, often in crevices inhabiting shady niches.
