Abstract

The article presents news briefs concerning industrial relations research as of October 1957. The Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations was jointly established by the governing boards of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University. There has been a shift in the focus of the research activities of the Institute of Labor Relations and Social Security of New York University. A series of studies is being conducted by the Foundation on Employee Health, Medical Care and Welfare, a joint labor-management venture between the International Association of Machinists and U.S. Industries Inc. The Division of Industrial Relations of Stanford University is conducting a study of wage, price and productivity movements from 1947 to 1955. The research program of the Institute of Industrial Relations of the University of California at Berkeley is concerned with six areas of investigation, including industrial psychology.
