Abstract
- The article presents the research "European Bat Lyssaviruses, the Netherlands," conducted by Wim H. M. Van der Poel, Reina Van der Heide, et al. The European bat lyssaviruses (EBLV) belong to the Lyssavirus genus of the Rhabdoviridae family and form a group of negative single-stranded RNA viruses. Detection of lyssavirus antigen was done with the standard fluorescent antibody test. EBLV sequences found in native bats in the Netherlands showed little divergence and did not indicate an emergence of new EBLV strains.
