Abstract

The article informs that the company Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) has announced the release of Journal Tracker, a direct-to-the-desktop, table-of-contents alerting service developed for individual researchers. The service is delivered directly to the user's Internet e-mail address. Like all ISI products, Journal Tracker is drawn from the multidisciplinary ISI database of over 8,000 leading international science, technology, and social sciences journals, providing users with complete bibliographic data on current research relevant to their work. It also provides English-language author abstracts, when available, in their entirety. Journal Tracker provides table-of-contents alerting for up to 25 journal titles as selected by the individual. ISI information specialists are available, as necessary, to help in the selection process. As soon as the journals are processed, the researcher receives an e-mail at his or her desktop. It includes detailed bibliographic information on every significant item in the journals' tables of contents, including journal name, volume and issue numbers.
