Abstract
- The article highlights the joint session of the Art Libraries Society of North America and the College Art Association that was held at the Omni-Shoreham Hotel in Washington on February 21, 1991. Alfred E. Willis, the moderator of the session, introduced the subject "The Art History Information System," to build on the 1990 joint session which was entitled "Anticipating Art History's Needs: The Role of Art Research Institutions in Interdisciplinary Study." Willis stated that art historians participate in a complex social system that includes artists, curators and a variety of information professionals. Papers that were submitted for the session offered different perspectives on the art history information system in mutation.
