Abstract

The article focuses on creating a successful international distance-learning classroom. Technological and pedagogical developments in distance education make it possible to create international classrooms that bring together college students and professors from different societies for learning and educational dialogue. The paper reports lessons from researchers' experience to guide those who wish to pursue similar endeavors and offers evidence that international distance-learning course can advance the goals of enhancing students' cross-cultural knowledge and understanding. According to the findings of the study, students gained cross-national knowledge from their course. A large number of students responded about their home country for their classmates. It was found that creating an international classroom, however, adds the complexities of negotiating long-distance co-teaching that must be grounded in secure relationships and careful planning. In short, cross-national knowledge and understanding can be enhanced in online distance-learning environment.
