Abstract
- The article discusses the fiscal policy of U.S. President George W. Bush and the outlook for the federal budget. The President plans to use his State of the Union address to talk about fiscal restraint. His aversion to big government programs will be emphasized while "earmarks" are inserted into legislation. Statistics are given showing the projected deficit and government spending across categories. Information is given about the number and cost of pork-barrel projects included in this year's federal budget.
