Abstract

The articles reports on the NESTA software tool which was developed to enhance insight into space shuttle ground processing and improve situational awareness at the NASA Kennedy Space Center. NESTA assists the Launch Processing System (LPS) by continuously monitoring the data going through the real-time telemetry system. LPS-processed measurements are distributed on a local area network as the Shuttle Data Stream, offering real-time data telemetry from shuttle ground-processing and launch operations. NESTA performs the function of a software agent for the NASA engineer.
