Abstract
- The article examines the poem "Venus and Adonis," by Philip Kolin. The unusual number of animals inhabiting the poem is noted. The animals in the poem are perceived in ways true both to Ovidian animism and to Darwinian evolutionary science. The poem's comedic first half is also analyzed.
