Abstract

The article focuses on the continuing debate over space exploration between the Soviet Union and the U.S. Space exploration has become a contest between the two nations for the sake of national prestige. However, in September 1963, President John F. Kennedy proposed a U.S.-Soviet Union joint moon expedition. The proposal became a sign of the end of competition between two nations.
