Abstract
- The article presents the author's observations regarding individual and group counseling of a cerebral palsied person, which may be made basis in helping the disabled individual attain to the extent commensurate with his potential. That degree of group affiliation, would grant him the fullest opportunity to function productively and to contribute to his survival and the survival of the group. In relation to this, the author has discussed the problems which are currently confronting adolescents in a society, explaining further the implications of individual and group counseling to the problems of adjustment of cerebral palsied adolescent. His discussion on the importance of social isolation and correction of maladaptive behavior in achieving emotional and social maturity of the cerebral palsied individual concludes the article.
