Abstract
- The article presents information on the new proprietary complex flavor system called TasteEssentials™ for Salt Reduction launched by Givaudan Flavors Corp. More than 65 percent of dietary salt in mature markets is offered by processed foods, according to Givaudan. Replacing sodium chloride with potassium chloride is the most effective way to reduce sodium by more than 25 percent. But this process alters the flavor that the new, customized Natural Flavour of Givaudan System helps amend. Flavors with non-characterizing taste profiles is offered by Natural Flavour of Givaudan System.
