Abstract
- This article focuses on the Northwest Passage, a Arctic sea route along the northern coast of Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper proposed revitalizing the Canadian Rangers with the interests of securing the Northwest Passage shipping route, which is up to a third shorter than other shipping routes around North America. However, the Northwest Passage depends on more global warming, which will decrease the amount of ice in the Arctic during summer months.
