Abstract
- The article discusses the use of paper relief sculpture to teach topographic map skills in the U.S. The enforcement of paper models in creating unique sculptures was influenced by the need to help students visualize in three dimensions. The activity presented in this article requires students to photocopy a topographic map section that they plan to sculpt. This activity opens opportunities for enrichment for students who wish to extend the application to a more complicated structure based on real topographic maps.
