Abstract
- The article focuses on the biography of Arthur Blechynden, son of William Blechynden and successor as superintendent of roads. Arthur and his siblings were part of the mixed-race children born as a result of European incursions into India from the time of the Portuguese. The race is claimed as the majority of the slaves and servants of European Calcutta in India. His experience in this environment was arrogated to be a lesson in proper conduct.
