Abstract
- The article focuses on a study which examined the effect of unstimulated saliva flow rate on experimental root caries lesion characteristics. These characteristics include mineral loss, lesion depth and mineral distribution in experimental root caries lesions in situ. It showed that all demineralization parameters were correlated with the unstimulated saliva flow rate. Multiple regression analyses showed that the unstimulated saliva flow rate alone explained the variance in the demineralization parameters.
