Abstract
- The article presents an interview with James Counsilman, head coach of the men's swimming team at Indiana University as of 1987. A biographical profile of Counsilman is provided, including coaching achievements and research work. Counsilman is the author of several books, including "Science of Swimming," and "Swimming Manual." In the interview, Counsilman discusses the importance of psychological aspects, including confidence and motivation, in competitive swimming. Personal experience as a sports psychology knowledge resource is discussed.
