Abstract: The article reports that the CEO of RWE Npower and other industry leaders have been called on by federal government in Great Britain to clarify their strategies for the allocation of emission allowances after 2008. The UK National Allocation Plan still places a tough burden upon power generators relative to other sectors. The present lack of a clear emissions trading framework for the period following 2008 prevents companies from making informed investments.
