Information models for data sharing.

How to share/exchange data among different databases is still a critical issue. In the medical domain, there is an absolute need for national/international agreement on standard ontologies, terminologies and data models. A global solution is far from being achieved, but in the meantime there are a number of sub-optimal solutions that can be adopted.
