Abstract
- The article discusses the developments on the security investigation at Fort Monmouth in New Jersey and reviews the facts and significance of the investigation. The author reports that the security investigation of the Army's Signal Corps Engineering Laboratories (SCEL) was exposed to the public in October 1953. He states that this investigation was brought about by the charges of espionage by U.S. Senator Joseph R. McCarthy. He asserts that no evidence of espionage at SCEL was shown during the subcommittee investigation. Moreover, he contemplates on the damage of the investigation to the work of the laboratories and to its employees.
