Abstract

The article discusses U.N. disarmament resolutions which were tackled during the first session of the 16th U.N. General Assembly. The first resolution is the eight-power solemn request to the Soviet Union asking it to refrain from executing the explosion of a 50-megaton bomb. Another resolution is the Indian resolution asking the nuclear powers to stop further nuclear tests pending the conclusion of a ban treaty. The next resolution is the Ghanian resolution asking that Africa would be considered as a denuclearized zone. It also asks the nuclear power to stop testing and transporting nuclear weapons in Africa.
