Abstract

The article discusses issues surrounding the jazz music industry in the U.S. It was mentioned that the final collapse of the big-band era in the late 1940s left a permanent hole in jazz. The three distinct types big band are the milky, unabashed dance band, the semi-jazz dance band and the out-and-out jazz band. Verve Records has issued no less than 14 records which was made in the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival.
