Abstract
- The article focuses on the opportunities offered by haymaking to arable farmers in Great Britain. Haymaking could tap into the horse industry by making quality forage for the 1.2 million horses in the country. According to Simon Chaplin of Abbotts & Co., quality ryegrass in conventional bales can fetch £140-180 per tonne. Hay is being sold based on its look. INSET: Mervin Slade.
