Abstract
- The article reports on National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) executive director Walter Byers' concern about the possibility of a legal case owing to the organization's exclusion of women from its intecollegiate athletic programs. Byers' expressed this fear after consulting with legal counsel George Gangwere. The NCAA, however, may have been spared the trouble by the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) which had started recruiting with the aim of becoming the female counterpart of the NCAA.
