Diabetes and Driving.

The article deals with the available data on diabetes and driving, potential pitfalls in research and gives recommendations for future research. Driving by diabetic patients may be impaired by three factors, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, and diabetes complications. There are three types of research that would be most helpful in supporting decisions on legislation concerning diabetes and driving including a prospective follow-up study that is large, multicenter and multinational.
