Abstract: The article focuses on alcohol miuse. The prevalence of premature deaths associated with alcohol miuse in Great Britain is discussed. The consequences of parental alcoholism are mentioned including social deprivation and a dysfunctional family life. Moreover, the need for the subclassification of alcohol-misusing patients into harmful drinkers and dependent alcoholics is addressed.
