Abstract

The article provides guidelines for the management of tropical genito-ulcerative diseases (GUD) in Europe. Laboratory tests would include direct microscopic analysis of Haemophilus ducreyi, in vitro culture for the diagnosis of chancroid, and Deoxyribonucleic acid amplication method. Saline bathing is recommended in relieving complaints caused by GUD including in genital herpes lesions.
