Abstract
- The article considers the poetry of Peter Porter and accusations of ungentlemanliness. The article argues that Porter is a metropolitan poet, whose precise references to London (England) city life makes him an "urbane" poet of the city. Porter is an apologist for the essential truth to be found in modern, city living.
