Abstract
- The article presents an update on environmental issues related to the chemical industry. The French crop protection trade group, Union des Industries de la Protection des Plantes, is disputing French government plans to reduce the use of the most dangerous crop protection substances by 50%, along with substitution, where possible. The European Commission has sent a final written warning to Portugal about three breeches in European Union law protecting human health and the environment.
