The author reflects on psychiatry and salvation. He remarks that the society wants the psychiatrists to adapt priestly role in their tasks. The author claims that while most of them will contest to this thought, asserting that curing mental illness involves technical methods, they would eventually take part on the elaboration of theories about men that were integrated on such methods which would confer some quasi-priestly role on psychiatrists.
