Abstract

The article discusses the Congenital rubella syndrome with emphasis on the case of a patient with a persistent rash and deafness as symptoms. The patient, a two-year old boy, developed rashes when he was eight months old and had failed the standard distraction test for deafness. Examination results showed that the rashes has faded and that the cognitive functions are normal except for the hearing impairment. The first case of congenital rubella was reported in 1941.
