Abstract

The author discusses the idea that the 2006 U.S. midterm Congressional elections are a referendum on the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush. It is suggested that Bush has become an isolated President and that the results of the election are likely to reshape the political atmosphere in America. Various issues related to the election are discussed, including the Iraq War, congressional opposition to Bush, and the potential for bipartisanship in a House or Congress with a Democratic majority.
