Abstract
- The article discusses how ex-President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega made his way back to power. Ortega and his Sandinista Front were ousted from power after a civil war with the U.S.-backed Contra army. Ortega recaptured the presidency after beating out candidate Jaime Morales, a Contra leader. The United States' interest in Nicaragua and concern about Ortega's return to power is mentioned. Details of and opinions about his political history are included.
