Abstract
- The article examines a putative spore ligand, microsporidia adherence protein, which appears to be involved in the spore adherence process. The mechanism of spore activation leading to host cell infection is unknown. The Encephalitozoon cuniculi genome was searched for putative proteins with adhesive domains in order to identify ligands involved in spore adherence to host cells.
