Abstract

Novel 4-(2-chloropyridin-4-yl)-N-aryl-1,3-thiazol-2-amines have been prepared by reacting (4-bromoacetyl)-2-chloropyridine with thiourea and substituted thioureas. The newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by analytical and spectral data. All the compounds have been screened for their antifungal and antibacterial activities. Almost all the compounds were found to possess excellent antifungal and antibacterial activities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
