Abstract

The article focuses on the public hearing held by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to discuss truck-mounted-solid-waste-compactors-noise-emission regulation in New York. EPA has identified garbage trucks as a major source of noise. A study has been conducted by the Office of Noise Abatement and Control to determine how much noise is being generated by garbage trucks. The citizens who testified during the meeting include Robert Alex Baron, founder of Citizens for a Quieter City Inc.
