Abstract

The article presents an abstract of the study "Internalization and Recycling Pathway of Rat Somatostatin Receptor Subtype 3." Researchers in the study elongated somatostatin receptor subtype 3 (sst3) at its C-terminus with HSV glycoprotein D or EGFP epitopes. Results of the study suggest that internalization of SST-14/sst3 complexes propagates through the clathrin pathway leading to degradation of somatostatin in acidic vesicles and recycling of sst3 to the plasma membrane.
