Abstract

The article focuses on the funds for post-Hurricane Katrina disaster relief activities of the U.S. administration. The Federal Emergency Management Agency will end up reimbursing the Coast Guard for fuel used to power helicopters in rescue missions, the city of New Orleans for the overtime of its police and fire departments, and Houston, Texas, for the costs of housing evacuees in the Astrodome. Both parties are trying their best to use the Katrina rebuilding effort to boost their agendas.
