Abstract

The article presents an overview of a study on the impact of protein hydrolysate/leucine coingestion on long-standing type 2 diabetic patients. Co-ingestion of a protein hydrolysate/leucine mixture following each main meal substantially reduces the prevalence of hyperglycemia in these patients. This is accompanied by a significant reduction in average 24-hour blood glucose concentration.
