Abstract

The article looks at global warming policy in the U.S. According to the article, Election Day in November 2006 propelled global warming to a top-tier issue on the nation's agenda for action. A Zogby survey found that a majority of voters said that the U.S. Congress should pass legislation promoting renewable and alternative energy sources as an effective way to reduce global warming pollution. A coalition of states have challenged the Environmental Protection Agency's failure to regulate carbon dioxide as required under the Clean Air Act, taking the case to the Supreme Court. The article comments on the National Wildlife Federation's commitment to working with Americans and elected officials to save wildlife and future generations from global warming.
